Gjurme te kasolleve te përdorura per banim para 8500 vjetësh si dhe dhjetëra sende qe i përkasin periudhës se Neolitit te hershem, kane dale ne drite gjate gërmimeve, ne sitin arkeologjik ne Vashtmi te Korçës. Grupi i arkeologeve shqiptaro-amerikane ne fund te ekspeditës, ka ekspozuar objekte te hershme qe nga veglat prej kocke, guri e stralli si dhe ene qeramike. Vashtmia konsiderohet si vendbanimi me i hershëm në Shqipëri. Siti arkeologjik zë një sipërfaqe prej afro pesë dynymësh.

Group Albanian-American archaeologists at the end of the expedition, has exhibited objects from early bone tools, flint stone and ceramic pots. Vashtmia abode with early in Albania. Archaeological site occupies an area of approximately five acres.
